Holly is in her third staff position at BUMC. She began her teaching career at our church's preschool program, BUMP. But she left as the woman's movement suggested a less traditional career was the way to go.
She worked in sales and marketing until she realized that she didn't find much satisfaction using her skills to line the pockets of a corporation. Thus she took her talents to the non-profit sector and served the United Way and a National Public Radio affiliate as a development associate. But, motherhood called, and Holly answered! BUMP would be the only preschool good enough for her daughter to attend. During that time a teacher was unable to complete the school year and Holly returned to BUMP. Once again she realized she was being called to work with children. Holly became a principal for Learning Unlimited Schools and served there for 18 years. After 18 years, she was praying for a change and God answered! Her current position became available! She loves sharing the love and Word of God with "our" children and encouraging and equipping their parents to share their faith with their children. In addition to staff positions, Holly has served BUMC as a Sunday School teacher for both adults and children, Sunday School superintendent, Volunteer Coordinator, usher, Interfaith Hospitality Network evening coordinator, sound crew, and Board of Trustees. Holly is widowed and has one daughter, Gail. Gail has added much joy to Holly's life through her love, Andrew, and a step-granddaughter, Sophie.
